Johnny McCafferty from the Lagoon in Termon got a big surprise when he arrived at the Lagoon this evening after playing football against Glencomcille to see a crowd waiting for him to celebrate his 40th birthday.
The football team were all in on the surprise and responsible for getting John to the Lagoon for a few pints.
The birthday boy Johnny was joined by his wife Lisa, daughters Kate, Grace and their son Sean-Og. His parents Johnnie and Sheila, sister Grainne hubby Paddy and children. His sister Maeve and partner Kevin were unable to make it as they were away on holidays.
Many of his cousins from the McCafferty side and then his Gweedore cousins were all present.
Past football mates Stephen Cassidy, Brendan Devaney, Keith Hegarty and Paddy Bradley from Derry.
His mother in law Margaret Hegarty and her sons and daughters were also there.
Rose McGettigan made the birthday cake representing Termon football and the gym his true loves.
John’s business partner Kevin McCafferty who is also his cousin and the owner of a Company called DPPS Contracts based in Ireland and the UK was also in on the surprise.
Gary Og sang in the wee bar when John arrived while Vincy Cassidy and Co with a traditional Irish Session played for the rest of the night. Wishing you a very happy birthday Johnny!
