The Roasted Bean Coffee House & Bistro opened this morning. Donegal’s newest and certainly the most anticipated launch of an eatery for some time. The beautiful surroundings and attention to detail is clear to see as you walk up the stairs from the new showroom of Patterson’s Kitchens & Interiors. The Haw Lifford which boasts the claim to be the biggest kitchen and bathroom showroom in Ireland.
The Roasted Bean is the dream and lifelong ambition of local couple Martin O’ Donnell and Sharon McElhinney who have taken on this fantastic project and are determined that everyone who visits them will leave happy and well fed. It’s quite a change in career for these budding entrepreneurs who have been involved in the crane business and music industry for a few years.
Inside the Roasted Bean you will be welcomed by a very experienced and vibrant team led by the charismatic and energetic Country singing star Chrissy Mac who is the Manager and brings years of experience in hospitality and of course his own brand of entertainment which his adoring fans love.
The menu will entice you with its wide selection of locally produced ingredients and there is something for everyone, including a great range of vegetarian and vegan options. In the cake display will be a mouth-watering choice of homemade tray bakes, cakes and desserts. Daily lunch specials made fresh every day by a very experienced and forward thinking chef team, the range of dishes will be extensive and changing with the seasons too.
Then comes the coffee, every good coffee house should have a coffee that is well made, ethically sourced and fresh with great taste notes and a kick. Well the Roasted Bean will have not just one but two coffees for you to choose from. Martin and Sharon believe strongly in supporting local and didn’t have to look far for a coffee supplier to do just that. Hatter Coffee from up the road in Stranorlar will be the flavours in your cups, Paddy Mc from the Hatter also has been helping the team get ready for the big day by offering consultancy and advice on all things hospitality.
So with all the needs of the customer looked after, they are delighted to welcome you to their new venture and join them in enjoying the best of what Donegal has to offer. Wishing Sharon & Martin all the best on their new venture.
