The two sixth classes from St Mary’s National School held their Oscar ceremony this afternoon in the School Hall.
This was a fantastic event for the children their teachers, families and friends. The principal Mr Keating welcomed all to the event and congratulated the children on their graduation from primary to secondary school.
Special guests at the event were myself and local photographer Gerard Mc Hugh. Each and every child received an Oscar for their own individual talent throughout their years at the school.
The students entertained the large crowd by singing their own rendition of “I will be there”. The event ended with the children enjoying their Oscar meal with their families and friends who enjoyed a cuppa with refreshments and a chat.
Well done to the class teachers Sinead Gallen and the newlywed Edel S Ni Dhochartaigh who a great job gave the children a lovely farewell.
