I finally made the trip to Arranmore Island on yesterday to attend the three day Arranmore Country Fest CPR (Country, Pop and Rock) in conjunction with Donegal Tourism and the Department of Arts and Culture, organised by the Arranmore Country Fest which is led by Thomas Costello (DJ Tubsy)
Local Donegal bands and artists took to the stage on Friday and Saturday finishing up on Sunday night with Conor O Donnell closing the festival.
Those who performed over the weekend included the Tumbling Paddies, the David Craig band, Cavanagh brothers, the Cufflinks, White Lighting, Humble Earthworms, Elaine Boyle, Paul Gallagher and Mary B.
This was a hugely successful event organized by the main man from the island Thomas Costello otherwise known as DJ Tubsy.
Thanks to Seamus and Louise Boyle from the Arranmore ferry were flat out all weekend, departing from the Port almost every hour. A big thanks to the ladies from the Arranmore Holiday Village who fed us for the day!
The Festival created 350 bed nights which was a massive boost for the island.
It was great to see so many Donegal artists perform on the Island, drawing great crowds from all over.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Thomas Costello for inviting me out and look forward to making a return trip in the summer.
