This morning I swapped my high heels for my wellies to cover the 7th annual tractor run at the Dry Arch in Letterkenny. Hundreds of tractors gathered behind the Dry Arch to get ready for their annual run.
This hugely successful annual vintage tractor run is organised by Allen Wylie and his family in aid of the Good and New Cancer Bus to Galway.
The event was very well supported and I have never seen as many tractors in all my life. Classy Massey’s. David Browns, Grey Fergies and Fords lined the road ready for take-off sucking diesel for the journey ahead!
It started seven years ago as a small tractor run and now it’s one of the biggest in the County.
The main man and organiser Allen Wylie did not expect the annual support of the local people especially all the drivers for this charity tractor run.
He very much appreciated everyone who came out this morning making the day the huge success that it was, to all the tractor men and women, the Gardaí and the Dry Arch.
Last year Allen raised € 36,616 with a total amount of €106, 000 raised in the last 6 years. Well done to Allen, the Wylie family and everyone who took part in the tractor run.
