‘Raising a glass’ to the recently refurbishment of the Central Hotel.!

As one of the historic landmarks in the Diamond of Donegal Town and fondly known as the “Grand Dame of the Diamond”, the Central Hotel and Leisure Centre celebrated last night to mark their recent makeover and transformation of the exterior,  hotel reception foyer and the upstairs Central Bar.

There was a great attendance including local businesses to “Raise a Glass” with local community with everyone in great form, enjoying an evening celebrating the hotels recent enhancements.

Head Chef Joko Sediati and his amazing culinary team presented a spectacular array of canapés in keeping with menus from Thai Fusion at Chapmans restaurant and Blazers restaurant theme which are swiftly becoming the go to restaurants in the North West.

Team Central  showcased some of their cocktails and wines on offer and Musical Entertainment with the locally talented band,  “Heartstrings” early in the evening followed by sultry tones and jazz from Andrew Monk which truly complimented the newly renovated  Central Bar.

There is live musical entertainment available every evening in the Central Bar throughout the Summer Season.

Every Tuesday, the aptly themed ‘Trad Tuesdays’, with the reputable “Slipjig” playing the best of traditional Irish classics. Every Sunday,”Jazz Sundays” Easy Listening Jazz performance from Claire and Rodney Deery from 6pm till 8pm.

Speaking of the recent project enhancements undertaken, GM Breda Haden said  “The vision was to create an eye-catching and appealing appearance from the exterior and bringing that same level of style and grace in to the Hotel Reception area and Central Bar was a carefully thought project from colour schemes to lasting impact.

The Central is so historically and fondly regarded as one of the North Wests finest, I felt it important to showcase that classy reputation.

As it is a vantage point from every corner of the Diamond, it was imperative to provoke the beauty of its location in keeping with the beauty of historic Donegal Town. I had huge support during every stage of its progression from all local trades making the final appearance so rewarding.  My team, who are the best in Ireland demonstrated such loyalty towards the end goal, I am continuously very grateful to them and very proud of them.

The local community offered such encouraging support and the positive feedback is really humbling.

Having taken on the role of General Manager, four years ago, I allowed myself a five-year plan towards the business development,  it is getting there even with the covid interruptions and I am truly grateful to my Directors for their investment in the hotel and trust in me.”

Breda adds, ” coming next is the project Ballroom dance floor  where we are replacing our existing dancefloor with a newly appointed state of the art maple floor.  Again the local businesses and craftspeople are assisting in making this a most beautiful dance space in our Grand Ballroom with a view overlooking Donegal Bay on the Wild Atlantic Way.

I am looking forward to welcoming our local community and loyal guests to enjoy the upgrades in the months ahead” she concluded.  www.centralhoteldonegal.com
