Operation Transformation at the Nesbitt Arms Boutique Hotel!

It’s operation transformation at The Nesbitt Arms Boutique Hotel in Ardara.  I went up to visit the hotel to check out the newly refurbished bedrooms which are tastefully decorated. The Ballroom also had a makeover and the hotel is such a lovely cosy place to visit. I met with the Director Claire Clancy who showed me around the boutique Hotel which is managed by Liam McGill and his wife Claire.

In the few years under the new ownership of Liam & Claire Clancy, this hotel has morphed into a beautiful quaintly elegant, timeless piece.  To top that, it is positioned right in the centre of the amazing Heritage Town of Ardara and a great base to explore SW Donegal.

With Slieve League Cliffs only a drive away, the Nesbitt Arms Boutique Hotel is a brilliant location to base yourself to discover Donegal’s wild Atlantic way. Take a left after the hotel and a 10 minute drive will bring you to the beautiful Blue Flag Beach of Narin where you can walk this long white sandy creation. Looking in over the beach from the dunes is the imposing and rugged 18 Hole Narin & Portnoo Links course.

The motto  at the Nesbitt Arms Boutique Hotel is to provide a genuine warm “True Donegal Welcome” and they do this because every one of their team is native to Ardara – a unique and challenging achievement.

The Hotel is now fully refurbished and boasts 49 “not so standard” en suite bedrooms with some unique décor to display their character. The bedrooms all look amazing with thanks to Gina McGarvey, Interior Designer from GMG Interiors, who used her talents throughout the hotel.

Ramblers Bar & Restaurant is the place to go for food, drink and lively entertainment.  Voted for the ‘Great Places to Stay and Eat’ in 2018 and 2019 by Lucinda O Sullivan, the plaques are proudly displayed outside the front door of the hotel.

Weavers Suite Ballroom has just been completely refurbed and is an ideal place for weddings, parties, meetings. This place is definitely worth a visit and to quote Claire, “We don’t just sell rooms here, we sell a whole experience.  We like our customers to arrive as guests and leave as friends.  That’s what we are famous for here in Ardara!”

The next big event in Ardara is the annual Match Making Festival which will take place on 8th, 9th and 10th November.  Music by David James on Friday 8th, Jim Devine  they will entertain in the newly decorated ballroom on Saturday 9th. Mairead Loughman the Matchmaker and Dating specialist will be there all weekend to book a private appointment with her call the hotel 074 95 41103. Special weekend stay €145 pps for 2 nights B&B plus entry to both dances.
