The Silver Tassie Hotel BBQ & Food Fest takes place every Monday throughout the summer months until 26th August and if you get a chance you should to try it out.
I was there last night enjoying the lovely food, atmosphere and as always I have good craic in the Tassie. It was great to see a good crowd there enjoying their food in the lovely gardens.
Rose Blaney brought me around her new up cycled garden where they grow all their fresh produce and herbs, they even have edible flowers!

The BBQ is now in its 7th year and every year something new and exciting is added not to talk of the great value for money.
The price of €12.50 per person for all you can eat and €10 for under 10’s.
As well as fantastic value the BBQ also offers the very best quality mouth-watering food, all cooked to perfection. With so many choices available there really is something for everyone: Burgers, Hot Dogs, Marinated Chicken, Seafood Paella, Italian Meatballs, Lamb Chops, and Corn on The Cob, Baked Potatoes, and Sauté Onions & Garlic Bread. There is a full Salad Bar available where many of the ingredients used are home-grown and handpicked from the hotel’s new upcycled kitchen garden.
If you have room after your feast there is an ice cream cart and dessert area full of delicious treats at a great price. The BBQ is advertised to start at 8.30pm but the “on the ball” crew in the Silver Tassie are always ready that little bit earlier, so you can always come along earlier, get your seat and enjoy a summer cocktail in the bar or conservatory while you wait.
With a great summer buzz around the hotel from both tourists & locals I just had to head to the bar to check out the live music. We were entertained into the early hours by the very talented Mark Cutter & friends.
If you are looking for a great night out this summer then the BBQ is definitely worth checking out. You simply buy your tickets at the reception desk on the night or if you are planning a group night out you can give them a call on 074-9125619 and they will reserve an area for you. I can definitely recommend this as a lovely night out.
