Miss Donegal, Kirsty O Donnell is hosting an ice cream charity day at the Big Scoop, Kelly’s Diner, Mountain Top today from 12pm until 8pm tonight.
The event is in aid of Little Angel’s special school in Letterkenny with €1 from every ice cream sold donated to the school.
The children arrived in buses every few hours to get some ice cream and got to meet Kirsty and got their photos taken.
This is Kirsty’s first charity even with many more to come before the Miss Ireland final in September 5th at Killua Castle.
Kirsty thanked Mairtin and Angie Kelly as well as the staff at Kelly’s for supporting her on her Miss Ireland journey and for making her ice cream day possible raising funds for Little Angel’s Special School.
Kirsty said ‘I have some new fresh and innovative charity events coming up during the summer in aid of Little Angels. Donegal as a rural county can sometimes be forgotten like some smaller charities. This is the reason I am so glad to have the opportunity to use my Miss Donegal platform to raise awareness for such a great school and give them the recognition they deserve! I believe every child deserves the opportunity to receive the essential education they need no matter what the circumstances, she concluded.
