Maggie’s Tavern in Carrickmore, St. Johnston is celebrating 50 years in business this weekend.
The party got off to a lively start tonight with music and food and will continue all weekend until Bank Holiday Monday.
The new bar is well christened tonight with all the customers very impressed with the décor. The bar was gutted, and all the hard work has paid off!
Alice Lynch, the proprietor is delighted at how the bar has been transformed and praised Anne Blake from La Maison in Letterkenny for her professionalism designing the bar so tastefully.
So, the party weekend is underway with a celebration dinner at 7pm for the customers .
I was honoured to cut the fabulous cake made by the talented Edel Porter along with the main woman Alice Lynch.
Tomorrow night (Saturday) from 6-9pm Music by Big P and at 10.30 Rosemary will launch her new song about Maggies. Free Admission.
On Sunday 2nd June Trever Loughrey will perform from 5pm to 8pm with admission free. At 10.30 pm The David Craig Band will entertain with €1000 in prizes to be won. Admission €10.
On Bank holiday Monday Just Me will play. Wishing Alice, her hubby Neil, daughter Maura and son Patrick all the best for their big fun filled weekend.
