‘Eternal Beauty’ at Kee’s Hotel celebrate 18 years in business next month!

Cathy McGlynn, Proprieter of Eternal Beauty at Kee’s Hotel will celebrate 18 years in business next month. She is very much looking forward to getting back to work as soon as she gets the go ahead.

She started her own business at the young age of 22 years old. Although looking back now it was a scary process being so young and having her own salon, but thankfully eighteen years on and she has a very successful and busy salon.

On 15th March, Cathy had to close her salon due to Covid 19. It was an extremely difficult time for her (as it was for so many other businesses)  She had never been out of work since completing her full time education and college and is truly passionate about her work and is missing all her clients and the fun she has with them. Cathy has made a lot of really close friendships through her work. “My clients are like my second family to me” she said.

Since been off work for the last 12 weeks and got back out walking every day and doing a bit of cycling. She loves to cook and bake in her spare time and is also working away behind the scenes and has had the opportunity to up skill and train in new treatments, which will be on offer when the salon re-opens again.

Social Media is now a key part of any business and she continues to keep up to date with that and engaging with her clients by talking to them on the phone or by text. She is always there to help people out even though the salon is closed.

Cathy told me that she had a lot of wedding bookings which were cancelled due to the pandemic. “It has been such a hard time for them but we have them all rescheduled now and will be looking forward to been part of their special day”.

“Since lockdown I have realised how things in life can change so quickly. I am extremely lucky that I live in the country side and I can go for long walks and spend quality time with my husband Patrick and my three beautiful children Conor, Caolan and Rachel. I am so blessed and grateful for this precious time too”. She concluded.

In January the salon underwent a refurbishment with a whole new look. Cathy is really looking forward to getting back to work again. The design of her salon will be easy to apply social distancing guidelines without the loss of any of the relaxing atmosphere. Getting back to work will be easy for Cathy as she is always very particular about hygiene in her salon and she has always maintained a very high standard of hygiene during treatments.

She looks forward to welcoming everyone back next month.
