It definitely was the wedding of the year after many date changes, Rebecca Long and Charlie Packwood finally tied the knot yesterday in Monreagh Presbyterian Church. The couple were married by Rev. David Latimer in front of 160 guests and the Belfast Gospel Choir.
Rebecca looked radiant and is the daughter of Alwyn and Jean Long, Kildrum Lower, Carrigans while the dapper Charlie is the son of Dominic and Julie Packwood who reside in Spain.
Jean was former Managing Director at Johnston Press, who owned the Donegal Democrat group of newspapers, when I worked there.
After the nuptials, Rebecca and Charlie made their way in style to the 5 star Lough Eske Castle Hotel for a lavish reception in the sunshine to join the glamorous bridal party.
The Ball room was decorated beautifully by Ultimate Touches in white voile curtains with fairy lights leading right into the ballroom. As you can see from the photos the room was beautifully decorated with attention to detail, Ultimate Touches always do an amazing job..
The meal was 5 star and thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests. They came from all over the world for the wedding, Dubai, Greece, Berlin and Belgium. The best men and bridesmaids all looked fabulous not forgetting the pageboy Flynn Long and flower girl Emily Long.
After the speeches the band ‘Peach’ got the crowd dancing on the floor followed by DJ Scoop who finished up what was a memorable occasion.
Thanks to Kenny and Heather Scott, Alan and Pamela Scott, Bernie and John Conway for the company and craic at the table.
Wishing Rebecca and Charlie many happy years of marriage and thank you both for a fabulous day and night.
