Caitlin will represent London at the Mary from Dungloe!

The excitement is building for this years Mary from Dungloe after a few years break due to Covid. The festival will take place from 23 July until 1st August.

This year’s London Mary is Letterkenny girl Caitlin Finn, born in London in 2001, before moving to Ballybofey in 2003 and to Letterkenny in 2008.

Caitlin is the eldest of three children, she has a brother Odhrán and a sister Hannah.

She attended Loreto Letterkenny and did her Leaving Certificate in 2019.

Caitlin said ‘I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and combined with my desire to return to London, I decided to pursue my Primary Teaching degree in St Mary’s University in Twickenham. In the last few years, I’ve met so many fantastic people, as well as having so many new opportunities. Living in Twickenham has been like a home away from home, with a very short travel to Central London to see all of the sights and enjoy all that London has to offer. There’s never a dull moment!

I’ve always loved to help people and have new experiences. I enjoy meeting new people and both the festival and moving to London have allowed me to do this. I am passionate about making a difference and I have recently been elected as St Mary’s University’s first ever female Student Life President, which will allow me to make changes on a greater scale.

I have been involved with the festival since 2017, where I worked as a photographer and volunteered at many different events. I also had the opportunity of travelling with the Marys around Donegal and saw how fantastic that experience is, so applying to be the London Mary was a no brainer!

Given my vast experience of living in London for the last three years, having the opportunity to represent London as the London Mary from Dungloe gives me the chance to showcase all that London has to offer. Having worked closely with the festival, I know how well London can be promoted, as the festival has so many connections throughout Ireland and internationally.

I am beyond delighted to represent London and I am counting down the days to the Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival on 23rd July – 1st August 2022, she concluded.

We wish you the best of luck in Dungloe and no doubt you will have a ball!
