Eamonn Gillespie, Bruckless is no stranger to the hospitality world. He is well known throughout the North West and with his job in Harvey’s Point Hotel as Guest Relations Manager and he can’t wait to get back.
During lockdown he engaged himself in the development of a new project, turning his residence into a luxurious guesthouse in Bruckless. You can check it out on his new website www.brucklessrest.com
I have known Eamonn for many years, having covered many functions and the popular cabarets he hosted down through the years.
A unique and stylish Residence comprising of a spacious en-suite Master Bedroom, Cocktail Bar, Dining Room, Drawing-room, Kitchen, Patio and Garden. This full of character property on the “Wild Atlantic Way” is the perfect retreat location for a Mid-Week or Weekend Getaway; or a secluded hideaway for an Executive.
Bruckless Rest adjoins a Traditional Thatched Donegal Cottage beautifully situated in a colourful Rose Garden (Cottage caters for 5 Guests) overlooking the Monastic Tower of Saint Conal. The tower pays tribute to Saint Conal our local Saint from the 6th Century and whose healing well is only 15 min walk away.
Bruckless Rest is superbly situated in the Centre of Bruckless Village just 18 km west of Donegal Town. It’s close proximity to Ireland’s Premier Fishing Port Killybegs (6 km away) where you can enjoy the hooked and cooked experience on offer from the local Fish Monger.
Just across the road, Eamonn recommends “Barry’s” Spar Shop, open daily 8am to 10pm where you can choose from a well-stocked deli counter for tomorrow’s picnic or Al Fresco Lunch in our Secluded Garden.
“Mary Murrin’s Bar and Restaurant” where a full à la carte is available. Seafood a speciality!
From Bruckless Rest you can explore our famous Appalachian Walking Routes which walk in the footsteps of Slí Conal and Slí Cholmcille. Hire Electric Bikes in Carrick and experience breath-taking views from Europe’s highest sea cliffs, Slieve League just 3 km away. Bruckless Pier has breath-taking views of Donegal Bay where the local fishermen will only be too happy to sell a freshly landed lobster. The Pier itself inspired the Novel “The Family on Paradise Pier” by Dermot Bolger. (Copy available to read in the Drawing Room)
