I recently visited the Bonnington Dublin Hotel & Leisure Centre (formerly the Regency Hotel) I was greeted by Director James McGettigan along with his sister Catherine, Business Development Manager and Ciaran O Donovan, General Manager.
The hotel is home from home for many Donegal people heading to the capital and make it their first stop. Owned by the well-known McGettigan family you are always guaranteed a warm Donegal welcome.
The well-known Martin McGettigan (Jim’s brother) who you will find in the hotel around breakfast time extends a warm welcome and banter to the guests is known by everyone throughout the county
The hotel has 240 bedrooms that blends architectural charm, the main building dates back 200 years, with modern comfort.
Located 3km north of Dublin City Centre on the main route to Dublin’s International Airport (6km), close to all major attractions-including Croke Park the Home of GAA, which is only a 10-15 min walk. The Helix Theatre, Clontarf Golf Club, Beaumont Hospital and Dublin City University are all on the doorstep.
O’Connell Street and The 3Arena Concert venue are only a short bus ride from the Hotel, with numerous regular buses stopping right outside the Hotel. Dublin Zoo is always a huge attraction for family breaks.
The hotel boosts a 5 Star State of the art Leisure Centre with Swimming Pool, Gym and Spa which will help make your stay even more enjoyable. They also have a new conference centre which can hold up to 650 delegates in a gala setup.
McGettigans new bar adjacent to the car park at Centra just opened a year ago. This is in addition to the hotel bar. If you want to enjoy a drink and some food, you have the choice of both. Bar food served till 9pm daily.
