Take a bow Nathan Carter, what an outstanding performance you put on last night in the Church of the Irish Martyrs in aid of St. Vincent De Paul and other church projects.
Over 800 people of all ages and denomination filled the church for a great night’s entertainment from Nathan and his band. The Martyrs choir started off the entertainment for the evening followed by Dr. Seamus Maguire who played some beautiful music with his violin and viola.
Nathan made a grand entrance from the back door walking up the aisle singing ‘Santa Claus is coming to town’
Father Brian Quinn made his debut singing a beautiful song called ‘The Parting Glass’ to whom he dedicated it to his good friend the late Gay Byrne.
Nathan played for a solid 2 hours, having the craic in between and telling everyone about his love for Donegal. He went down a storm with the huge crowd. Nathan was happy to stand to have photos taken with his fans after he finished up, a true gentleman.
The committee put in a lot of hard work to the lead up of the concert event so a big thanks to them, to the security team, Gortlee Tool Hire who provided the outdoor toilets, Watson Hire, the Gardaí, parking attendants and everyone else who helped on the night. Thanks to all those from the Letterkenny Gaels who sold tickets for the raffle which raised €2,500
Hopefully this will be an annual event, raising much needed funds, what a great idea!
They could have filled the church twice over if they had the capacity. Look forward to the next one already!
