McElhinney’s Stores had the pleasure of welcoming Majella O Donnell to their store earlier today.
Majella made her way to the lingerie department where she was welcomed by Sandra Devenney, Sales and Business Development Manager and Roberta Cuddy, Manager of the Lingerie Department and staff.
She gave a brief talk on her journey from the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago up until now. She gave a very personal talk and I must say she is a very down to earth woman.
She spoke about shaving her hair completely off on the Late Late show and the amount she raised was a whopping 700,000 for the Irish Cancer Society which exceeded all her expectations.
She said it was a tough journey but was doable. Her message to ladies and indeed gents was to always be aware of changes in your body and get them checked, early detection is vital. Majella is now 4 years post cancer and was looking fabulous wearing a dress from McElhinney’s. A very inspirational lady.
Guests were treated to teas, coffees and lots of tasty treats. I even managed to get the man himself John McElhinney into not one photo but two! He loves to see me coming with the camera!!
